Create your own natural inks at the AAA Natural Inks workshop Saturday, August 16th
Capture colors from nature's paintbox at the upcoming natural inks workshop, sponsored by the Accokeek Artists Alliance on Saturday, August 16, from 10 am - 12 pm at the Wagner Center, 2311 Bryan Point Road.
Led by local artist and AAA member Candice Bigelow, you will create striking colored inks from seasonal plants, such as a beautiful green from grasses and stems or yelllow-orange from blooming coreopsis, or from other foraged finds, like inky brown from walnuts. Also, you will find out how to change ink colors by manipulating their pH.
All materials will be provided, and you will leave with new inks ready to use in your own artistic creations (see example above). Please bring an apron or wear old clothes.
Fee for members is $15 and $25 for nonmembers. Registration for the 15 available spaces opens March 1, and the registration deadline is July 26.
Maximum Enrollment: 15
